Spring Update

Hey everyone,

Winter is finally over, the sun is shining and the weather is heating up! I hope your mood is as solar-powered as mine and you’re feeling hopeful for the future! Here is a little update on what I have been working on and what I’m up to in the next few months. Thanks for stopping by and supporting my work. Exciting times 🙂

Vintage Voices – Tune into the Griffith’s History

I have been lucky enough to be commissioned to write a collection of plays based on Griffith’s local history.  This project was created by Pioneer Park Museum and GRAPA.  The plays have now been recorded and they are sounding great. Our directors and actors have done a wonderful job.

In exciting news, the project has already been nominated for a Museum and Galleries NSW ‘Imagination’ Award!

The episodes will be released on the local radio 2MIAFM 95.1, on FaceBook and YouTube in October. Stay tuned.

National Young Writer Festival 2020

I will be participating for the very first time in the National Young Writers Festival. I will be doing a reading of my monologue, ‘I wore heels, so she wore heels’ as a part of ‘This Was Urgent Yesterday Mixtapes.’

The program for the event is all online and is jam-packed with talent. I’m really excited to check it out. NYWF runs through the month of October.

Anniversary of Writing Place

It’s been exactly a year since I flew off to South Australia (flying to another state – times have definitely changed!) to be a part of the Writing Place Playwriting Residency. This experience changed everything for me as a writer.  The people I’ve met, the conversations we’ve shared and the opportunities that have been opened up for me as a result of Writing Place have been life-changing. I couldn’t be more grateful!

I wrote a blog post for Country Arts South Australia, all about my experience at Writing Place from applying and travelling, to writing the monologue, “I wore heels, so she wore heels,” and now my reflections a year on. It can be found here at: Deadlines and Discoveries – The Dirt
